C'mon people,


Last night @ 9pm another uncollared male panther was picked up from the road in collier county. The cat was about 4/5years of age. From Dusk to Dawn and even during the day, be aware of panthers if you drive in Florida.

14th Road Death .

Journeys End

A 14th panther lost his life on the road, last night or early this morning. He was an un-collared cat & about 3 years old. See panthernet for further details.

Cougar Rewilding Newsletter - I never imagined in my wildest dreams that people would ever be so supportive of these cats. I am proud & thankful that some people have the courage to do so.

Life & Death but Panthers move ahead.

Panthers will continue to die on these South Florida roads, #13 fatality for the year was a young female. Sad for these individuals to loose their lives this way, yet it is also an indication that their population continues to be a viable one.

GFP sticks with bigger harvest, statewide lion season.

SD Game Comissioners throw Americas Mountain Lions to the dogs. Unlike some States who are supportive and protective of their national treasure, South Dakota seem ready to destroy their once recovering population. To understand why - read "Phantoms of the Prairie" a book about cougars returning to the Midwest by John Laundre, who writes about the crisis facing these Lions in chapter 5.

Panthers out & about in Yulee

Panthers Returned Safely to their Rehab Pen in Yulee Florida.

2 Young panthers explored new terrain after Hurrican Sandy caused damage to a fence in their pen, the cats were tracked, caught, & returned safely. They were taken into care when their mother was found dead last year and are due for release in South Florida toward the end of winter.
